Online Doctor E-Visits are available for established patients for appropriate follow-up care and medication refill requests. E-Visits are not a substitute for emergency medical care and may not be appropriate for new patients or conditions requiring an in-person examination.

Online Doctor E-Visits

Online doctor visits can provide established patients with a convenient way to receive appropriate follow-up care without making an unnecessary trip to the office. Scottsdale Skin & Holistic Health offers E-Visits for certain medical needs that can be appropriately evaluated through a remote consultation.

E-Visits are designed to provide convenient access to care while maintaining appropriate medical documentation, patient privacy, and professional standards.

Convenient Follow-Up Care From an Experienced Provider

Technology makes it possible to provide certain types of follow-up medical care more conveniently while still maintaining appropriate professional standards. When a medical concern can be appropriately addressed remotely, an E-Visit may save you the time and inconvenience of scheduling an unnecessary in-person appointment.

Medical care provided through an E-Visit must still be properly documented in your medical record. Patients may be asked to provide or update medical history, current medications, allergies, health information, and other information necessary for the provider to evaluate the request.

Patient health information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Appropriate consent and medical documentation may be required before an E-Visit can be completed.

What Can an Online Doctor Visit Be Used For?

E-Visits may be available for established patients when the medical concern can be appropriately evaluated without an in-person examination. Examples may include:

• Medication Refill Requests: Review of certain existing prescriptions when medically appropriate.
• Follow-Up Visits: Follow-up for previously evaluated conditions when an in-person examination is not required.
• Recurring Minor Medical Concerns: Evaluation of certain previously diagnosed or recurring conditions when appropriate for remote care.
• General Medical Follow-Up: Discussion of symptoms, treatment progress, medications, or other concerns related to established care.

Some symptoms and medical conditions cannot be safely or appropriately evaluated through an E-Visit. If an in-person examination, laboratory testing, imaging, or other evaluation is necessary, you may be asked to schedule an office visit or seek care from another appropriate medical provider.

Online Doctor Visit Cost

The fee for an Online Doctor E-Visit is $75. This fee covers the provider's time to review your information, evaluate your request, document the encounter in your medical record, and provide appropriate follow-up recommendations.

Submitting or purchasing an E-Visit does not guarantee that a medication will be prescribed or refilled. All prescribing decisions are made by the healthcare provider based on medical necessity, your health history, applicable regulations, and professional judgment.

In-Person Medical Services

Certain medical concerns and procedures require an in-person evaluation and cannot be performed through an Online Doctor E-Visit. Depending on your individual needs and provider evaluation, in-office services may include:

• Trigger Point Injections: In-office evaluation and treatment for appropriate patients.
• IV Fluids: In-office intravenous fluid therapy when medically appropriate.
• Minor Laceration Evaluation: Assessment of appropriate minor wounds to determine the necessary level of care.
• Persistent Sinus Symptoms: Evaluation of ongoing symptoms to determine whether additional medical assessment or treatment may be appropriate.

2. Complete the required medical history, consent, and patient information.
3. Your information will be reviewed by the provider.
4. You will be contacted regarding your E-Visit and any appropriate next steps.

When to Seek Emergency Care

Online Doctor E-Visits are not intended for medical emergencies. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate care at the nearest emergency department.
